As usual, because I have never been interested in trying to create exams that exactly line up with the canonical 95&ndash;90&ndash;85&ndash;&#8230; scale, the bands are scaled more by how the scores and grades <em>should<\/em> line up based on a more subjective assessment of how people did and what score seemed like, e.g., a &#8220;B&#8221;.  Maybe it wound up being a little bit generous, I can&#8217;t guarantee that I&#8217;ll have the same feelings about the final, but it&#8217;ll probably wind up sort of like this anyway.<\/p>\n<p>The result with respect to this midterm is that the bands are actually 7% wide, rather than 5%.
