It was pointed out to me just earlier today that the midterm contains a typo
of a sort right at the beginning. It leads off saying that Vietnamese is an
SVO language and gives some examples that show that in (1). But the first
task asks about whether Vietnamese is a wh-in-situ language based on (1), and
(1) has no bearing on that question (since neither of the sentences in (1) are
actually wh-questions). Task 1 should be asking you to consider both (1) and
(2) (but, really, primarily (2)), not (1) alone.
Sorry about that!

This is kind of tangential to the course, but I kept getting locked out of WordPress due to
failed login attempts from malicious internet robots, so I have changed the site to a “static” one
(which gives malicious internet robots nothing to do, since there is no longer anywhere to sign in).
Mainly, for your purposes: it now looks different,
and it may take a little while before everything’s back in order.
For example, there are no category listings yet, nor an obvious RSS feed, but I’m working on it.
Now that this is in place, though, I should be able to keep up a bit more easily.
Note: To get to the readings page, use the password I gave you before as the page name in
the web address in the location bar: http://ling-blogs.bu.edu/lx328f16/(password)

Just at the moment, the registrar’s site says that the class is full. We can fit more people in, that will be adjusted online soon, though probably not before Tuesday.

This is where you’ll find the course site. Should be ready just about the time the semester begins.
